These unidentified images were found by a descendant of Frank Hodges.
The following information was submitted by a descendant who is seeking information.
Frank Carl Hodge was born 01/25/1928 in Philadelphia, PA. He died in 1988. Parent's names were Carl Hodge and Mary Brown.
Married in Lincolnton, North Carolina, May 17, 1956. On marriage certificate he is listed as Frank C Hodge, age 26, racewhite, living in Sumter, South Carolina. Son of Bill and Irma Hodge living in Detroit, Michigan.
Nickname, Curly. Traveled in fairs. Kicked out by father at 15 or 16 due to possible trouble with police. In car wreck at age 17 or 18 and in hospital for six months. Don't know where--perhaps St. Clair Shore, Michigan or Detroit. Dad joked about being related to a car lot ³Hodges for Dodges² in Detroit during the 1950's and 1960's.
In the 1950's the Dad was in North Carolina and had a woman and child who traveled with him. The child drown and Dad was a suspect in the drowning. The woman's name was Cassie, Cassy or Casey. Possibly lived in Spartenburg or Greenville, South Carolina.
The descendant searching for information was born in Greenville, South Carolina.
Dad got his social security number in 1956 or 1957 when he was 28. That year he saved a man's life when the man whose last name was Owens fell off the Lemon Bay Bridge in Englewood, Florida. The Mom and Dad stayed in the Shady Haven Trailer Park where carnival people wintered.
May have changed name from Hodges to Hodge. Car license was probably issued in Alabama because in Alabama you didn't need insurance. |
